DESCRIPTION:History Jackson Hole invites the community to celebrate natio
 nal Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday\, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
 . with free admission to the Jackson Hole History Museum. Downstairs\, e
 njoy the special exhibition Behind Linear Narratives: Indigenous Plains 
 Ledger Art co-curated by Al Hubbard and Susan Durfee and presented in pa
 rtnership with Central Wyoming College’s Native Voices. From 12:30 – 1 p
 .m.\, take the guided curator’s tour “What is Ledger Art?” with Al Hubba
 rd (Northern Arapaho/Navajo) and learn about the art form from its early
  Indigenous history to contemporary expression\, as well as current exhi
 bition artists Terrance Guardipee (Blackfeet Nation) and Terran Last Gun
  (Piikani/Blackfeet). As a guest educator\, Hubbard will lead activities
  with pre-scheduled 4th grade classes to learn about and create their ow
 n ledger art. Hubbard’s own artwork is also currently on display at Shar
 i Brownfield Fine Art. Visitors are encouraged to view the History Museu
 m’s outdoor mural Damma Newadaygwap Gay Nasoowazeet | Never Forget Our L
 anguage installed in partnership with Jackson Hole Public Art. The artis
 t Nanibah Chacon designed and created the mural in consultation with Eas
 tern Shoshone leaders\, including Shoshone language preservationist Lyne
 tte St. Clair. The entire Museum will be open on this special day\, incl
 uding the special temporary exhibit Jackson Hole 1955: Kodachrome Images
  by Orson L. Arvin capturing a fascinating moment in Jackson Hole’s hist
 ory\, the valley during the post–World War II auto tourism boom\, yet be
 fore the ski resort and rapid development began transforming the communi
